Consumer Focus Scotland welcomes the opportunity to submit evidence to the Finance Committee on the Draft Budget 2012-13: preventative spending. Consumer Focus Scotland recognises the challenge facing the Scottish Government and other public sector bodies in dealing with the anticipated reduction in the budget, and is supportive of a move towards more resources being dedicated to prevention and early intervention. Rather than addressing all of the questions set out in the committee’s call for evidence, this response focuses on the questions which are likely to affect consumers in Scotland most directly.
