Commenting on Royal Mail’s Quality of Service figures announced today, Mike O’Connor, Chief Executive of Consumer Focus said:
‘We welcome Royal Mail’s delivery performance in the last year. It beat its Second Class targets for the year and narrowly missed doing the same for First Class, which given an extensive modernisation programme is underway, is a good achievement.
‘Most postcode areas achieved the standards set for them but there appear to be persistent problems in London and the South East which remain a concern. Royal Mail should look further at why postcodes in this region don’t seem to perform as well as others around the country.’
