Response to fuel poverty court case decision

Consumer Focus’ response to fuel poverty court case decision

Jonathan Stearn, energy expert for Consumer Focus, said:

‘This is an extremely disappointing decision for the over five million households living in fuel poverty in the UK. The Government stands no chance of meeting its 2010 target and very little chance of meeting its 2016 target to end fuel poverty under its existing plans. If it is to avoid letting down the poorest households, a comprehensive new strategy must be developed with strong energy efficiency measures for fuel poor homes, price support for those who need it and the ending of unfair energy pricing.’
