In response to the MoneySavingExpert.com and Which? joint campaign to help consumers reclaim Payment Protection Insurance (PPI), Sarah Brooks, director of financial services at Consumer Focus said:
‘We welcome this initiative by Which? and MoneySavingExpert.com. We want to see compensation money going back to the consumers who were mis-sold, not into the pockets of firms trying to cash-in.
‘It is very concerning that those consumers who were ripped off when taking out PPI now face fresh misleading approaches by claims management companies. We’d urge any consumer thinking about turning to a claims company to look into making the claim themselves. They could potentially save themselves hundreds of pounds in the process.’
